Pearl Harbor (the movie not the event).....

So I went round a friends house on the weekend and we walk in to find the movie Pearl Harbor on and as I could remember from watching it before..... it sucked.

I mean OK the history behind the film is incredible and it sparked off world war 2 for the Americans but Ben Affleck?? Really.... I mean if you wanted someone to go to war with then even Matt Damon has more experience in that field (not that I'm saying I like Matt Damon as an actor...... because I don't) but still there must be better actors out there than Ben Affleck. He has like one or two decent movies (in which I really appreciated) which were Phantoms and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back both different films but both pretty dam awesome... the later being one of my favorites.

And the film has Cuba Gooding Jr in it!! And Josh Hartnet, Alec Baldwin and Kate Beckinsale!! I don't understand how this film sucked. But still if it had concentrated more on the history and the battle instead of a lame love story then it would of got my vote.

It was directed by Michel Bay so you know that its going to have over the top explosions in it and ridiculous amounts of special effects.... There was a scene in a hospital and the only way it could of been more ridiculous was if the whole hospital itself just blew up randomly. I don't understand.

By the way if you haven't worked out this review is not going in favor of Pearl Harbor.

Cuba Gooding Jr's character is a scrubber guy on a random ship and suddenly he turns bad ass and takes out a load of airplanes and that is awesome! Whilst he is kicking ass Josh and Ben are asleep..... THIS IS WHY CUBA DESERVED A BIGGER PART IN THIS MOVIE!!!!

When Cuba is killing planes I felt like wow everything is going to be OK, but when Ben takes an airplane and starts flying towards Japan thats it.... Game over.....

I dunno I guess I have a lot of things to say about this movie.... Hardly any are good apart from Cuba and the fact that Josh Hartnett takes a punch from Ben like a champion. But still if your gonna watch it then watch it because of the O.T.T. special effects and ridiculous amounts of explosions and then turn it off or fast forward when you get to the love parts.

Also don't ever EVER watch the film Knock Off.... It has Rob Schneider and Jean Claude Van Damme in it and it is terrible.....
