So this blog is about my learning and teaching that I will be doing this weekend with my young people, we are focusing on Mary and Martha.
Which one is better? How do we incorporate both into our lives?
I know that when I get passionate about something, I really find it hard to stop and just 'be' with Jesus.
So I was look into Luke 10: 38-42, making my notes and flying through it...
I already worked out that I was being a Martha...
I hadn't taken the time to give this study time to Jesus, to sit at his feet and learn from the teacher.
Work is good and can be very fulfilling.
But time with the creator is very underrated.
Taking time out of your day to reflect on Jesus' impact on our life can change your day.
I find that when I spend time with Jesus and take his ideas on board then everything goes so much better!
Surprising that...!! :)
Im not saying Martha was a bad person, she just has a serious servant heart.
Where Mary takes the time out to spend with Jesus.
Both of these are good things to do.
To be practical, and being active in your faith as well as pursuing Jesus.
Its a balance that we all need to get right, but its something that needs practice.... Jesus was the perfect example of this.
Taking time out of his days to go and pursue the father.
Going off on his own to have time alone.
But then being practical and acting in his calling as well.
So what can learn from this?
That getting the balance right would benefit not only our personal faith but the works around us as well.
That overall (and unsurprisingly) Jesus is the perfect role model of this.

I will continue to struggle in this, but will keep on this journey!
Look to Jesus, not to the things around you :)
