oh how the music has fallen.....

So I was listening to my spotify account (as I usually do) and as I don't have the unlimited account I have to put up with lame adverts. In one of these adverts they were advertising a brand new artist.... this artist was a young girl but the song and I mean the whole song was just auto tune the whole way through. She may of written the song but it showed nothing of her singing talent (if she had any) and I suddenly had the urge to through my laptop across the room just so the awful noise would stop but instead I relaxed before I made any rash decisions and decided to push the stop button instead.

I really don't understand how this music is appealing in anyway.... Its all going down hill really. This isn't me slating the music industry for everything they have done but more like me telling them that they are doing a crap job in the past couple of years. I mean why are people getting millions and millions of pounds for being able to sound good with auto tune??? How does that work??? Where has the talent gone???

I went to a gig a couple of weeks ago and saw a band called "Riots" and they were brilliant not because they were using auto tune but because you could tell they loved music and that they were doing something that they were passionate about! I would recommend you check them out.... But anyway I am just fed up by the system that seems to be in place where any 13 year old can sing a nursery rhyme with auto tune and be given a multi million pound contract.

I would love to see some "actual"  musicians getting recognized instead of all these manufactured teens. Its sad because its building up their lives for failure as well as torturing our ears because when you think that all your going to be remembered for is that one annoying song that was once played on the radio, you then think that you are a big shot. But hardly anyone remembers those guys that won a competition 5 years ago had a one hit wonder and then disappeared back to their jobs as a postman or a teacher or whatever.

Just in case your thinking I'm just ripping on Justin Beiber I'm not.... Yes he is very annoying and sings about love a lot for a 13 year old or however old he is but still he went for it and made it. Whether he will be around in the next 10 years or whatever is a different question all together, the point I'm trying to make is that he is a bright light right now but when that fades it will suck for him.

Anyway the music industry needs to stop leading on little kids and actually do some old school scouting for decent music!!
