Question....

I had a question asked me this week.... "Why don't you ever try to prove that God is real? Because if you do that then I would believe". This was from a teenager in the youth group I work in.

This was hard because I knew the exact place that they're in because I was in the same place 8 years ago.

But its tricky.

Trying to prove God exists is like trying to defend a shark.. or a lion. It doesn't really need your defense. Just get out the way and it will do its own work. I personally don't want to get in the way of a shark or a lion with all of its animal instincts flaring so imagine that but bigger for God. I really REALLY don't want to get in the way of that.

Its trying to define something that is so much bigger than our own minds. Its trying to pin point the exact image of the unimaginable.

Why Love? What is Love? How do we know we are Loved?

These questions are ones that float around peoples lives everyday. There is life surrounded by pain, suffering, anger, loneliness and stress surrounding us. All we need are those answers.

Why do we turn to drugs, sex, alcohol, addictions and other things that are other than Love? Because we want to belong. We want to feel just the tiniest amount of Love so we through ourselves around to men, women and earthly deeds. Love is bigger than sex and all those other things.

Love is above our total understanding. Because God is Love.

Love is sacrifice, Love is suffering, Love is patience and Love is eternal.

Because the things we all rely on will one day fall but God is eternal. His Love is eternal.

So there is no point in trying to prove God's Love because it is already active in this earth, in us, in you and everything that He breathed life into. But we will never truly understand Love because God is bigger than any of our understandings.
