Broken.....

Have you ever been to a museum? Ever been to the sculpture section and there is a vase sat there on its stand with a label of who the artist is and the date and description of the work of art.

Have you ever had the urge just to pick it up and throw it?

Yes?

The interesting thing is that I have always wanted to do that, I would love to throw one against the wall in the museum and see the pieces fall to the floor.... See the look of shock on peoples faces. This is my destructive side coming out if you hadn't noticed.

This is how I feel whenever I get challenged on something in my life, even if the person challenging is right.

Now I don't go and throw things against walls as that would be very immature and very expensive and as me and Rachel are youth workers, we don't have the time or money to stress over things as these.

But the point is every time I feel like I am being challenged in anyway I want to shout and scream and cause more disruption just to take the attention away from the first point.

The incredible thing is that God is the one who is doing the challenging bit and He is there willing to glue us back together.... But not just glue us together again, He is willing to give us a brand new look on life.... A new paint job if you will.

I know that even when I hate the challenge and the rebel comes out it is something that will help me in the long run.

It makes you wonder how much we really rock the boat and cause extra stress instead of just getting out and trusting Him.

These things that are challenging you are things that need to be sorted. I am not sat here writing this with a completely pure, treated heart.... Almost completely the opposite, me and Rachel just had a chat which left me in tears.... Not because she upset me but because scenarios around us have brought the past back to life for us.

It hurts but God promises that He will be there with us, walking along the exact journey we walk and at the end we will be put back together, better and stronger than ever.

Its not all pain and no gain.

The pain is worth the life that is being offered.

And the life we have been offered is more of God's love.

So when we are challenged don't fight it, choose to accept the challenge because with God as your strength you will be bettered.

Be God's masterpiece on display in His museum.
