When I am going somewhere I like to have a plan, ask Rachel, whenever we go anywhere new I need to know where I am going, what we are doing and how we are getting to the places we are heading to.
When we last visited London, I had planned all of the tube stops we had to take out and all of the places we wanted to visit with a brief estimate of time that we would spend there. Crazy huh??
Im a planner when I am unsure of my surroundings.
But I never plan stuff with God.
I find that quite strange.
I don't know God as much as I want to but I am very comfortable to just trust Him.
I can't see God but I am very aware that He is in control.
How often do we make sure that we are in control of our lives and situations around us?
How often do we 'step out' in faith with a safety plan in the background for the 'just in case moment'?
Its crazy to think that I need to plan for that moment.
God didn't have a plan B with us and Jesus.
Jesus was the plan.
When Jesus called the disciples to follow Him, they didn't have a clue about where they were going, what they were going to be doing but they still dropped everything.
Their lives, their families, their futures, their friends.
How willing are we to drop everything...?
I would honestly struggle.
I love my things... I love my xbox. I love my house. I love my friends. I love my life.
To give all of those up would hurt.
It would be a real step of faith.
I guess what I am trying to do here is challenge myself and whoever is reading this to look at our hearts and see where our passions and loyalties truly lie.
Are you trying to jostle your life with Jesus with a 'normal' life?
How can I honestly justify all of my possessions when I hold them so high in my life?
Don't try to juggle a life with Jesus with a life of split loyalties.
Because if you do it will be painful and unsatisfying.
Look at Jesus, follow Him and His example as much as you can.
This is something that I really need to look at in my life.
What are my priorities?
He is unknown because we put so much in between Him and us...
He wants us to know Him more.
He wants us to spend more time looking to Him.
Do it....
See how satisfying Jesus is.
