I was at a youth conference event last week up in Birmingham.
It was a great time, awesome for the youth and overall a very encouraging weekend.
There was one thing that I brought out of it more than anything else though....
It was the desire to see more justice in the world.
----------------
Not just seeing people of the world happy but overall being freed.
Freed from judgement, freed from pain, freed from the chains of the world and overall freed from the lies that hold them back.
----------------
I went to an event a couple of years ago.
It was in the Birmingham NEC arena.
It was called 'The Stand'....
There were around 6000 people there, all being taught on sex trafficking, sex slavery and prostitution.
It was an event to prepare, equip and muster a generation of people to say "No" to these injustices in the world.
Now I can say that I left that event feeling pumped and ready to fight all injustice in the world all on my own.
-------------------
Sadly I was looking on the BBC news website this morning and this was one of the main articles....
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19984615
Its all about the increase of sex trafficking in the UK.
It mentions facts and figures about the increase of action and the increase of the market of sex slavery.
Its just not right.
It mentions people being brought over here for work and being promised 'better lives' but overall being forced into labour or prostitution or both.
--------------------
On the 25th of March 1807, the abolition of the slave trade was agreed.
Yet now in 2012 over 200 years have gone by and the number has increased.
Get involved.....
Get equipped.....
Get Aware!!!
---------------------
I am challenging myself to not just sit by and read these articles but to get involved in whatever way possible. To be a voice, to do the leg work or to pray, these are all valuable ways of donating our time and energy in combating slavery and giving freedom to those captives.
Here are some of the organizations who are standing against trafficking
