So lately I have been listening to a lot more music than I usually would and I have been able to admire the fact that there are some truly awesome bands out there at the moment weather I'm a fan of the band or not I can still admire the fact they are good musicians. Which brings me to our band, Brought Into Being we are currently sat in band practice recording some demo's and just being as creative as we can!
I have been listening to completely different genres of music that are in my comfort zone, a lot more relaxed and a lot more of the popular scene stuff! This music really stood out on my spotify list and I took a lot of time for me to even consider listening to any new genres of music. I was very happy to stay in my rock/metal/punk area of music... but still to have a better opinion of music these days I had to take a risk and I'm glad I did!
Its always good to expand our views even if its something like music otherwise we get comfortable and then get lazy! I know saying you can have a lazy music taste is crazy but if you eat the same food over and over you get used to it and you will just expect it! Its the same if you listen to the same type of music over and over, you will expect and only want the same type of singing, guitar tone and all the things that would follow it! If we constantly challenge ourselves then we wouldn't even have to worry about the different music type and the different fan base!
I once heard an argument between 2 people who were arguing over Charlie Simpson previously of Busted and now of Fightstar. They were arguing about the fact that he quit Busted to form Fightstar and that he had "sold out", the fact that he quit Busted is a legit argument but they should be happy that someone who obviously loves music for music more than the money is still in music and wasn't dumped because he challenged the industry in a way.
I'm not saying that Charlie Simpson is the only one who has ever done this but he is a person who I look up to in a way of saying that money isn't everything because whilst he was in Busted he was getting lots of money, girls, fame and everything that he wanted. But when he joined Fightstar he threw away all of that for his personal choice, his wants and the fact that money wasn't the reason why he was in music!
Keep expanding and be happy, we have music! :-)
